Sortie
MOS translator

Translate your MOS into a civilian resume

A military resume translator turns job codes, duties and evaluation language into words a civilian recruiter understands. Sortie does this from your own record, suggests fitting job titles, and never adds claims you cannot back up.

What a military resume translator does

It takes MOS, AFSC or Navy rate duties, evaluation bullets and award citations and rewrites them in civilian terms: team size, budget, equipment value, training delivered and results. Acronyms and rank-based phrasing are replaced with plain language, so a hiring manager sees the scope of your work in seconds instead of decoding it.

Why accuracy matters

Generic translators often guess, and a guessed number or title can fall apart in an interview. Sortie works only from the records you upload. Each line traces back to something you actually did, and numbers that are not in your record are removed. You review every line before it is used.

From translation to applications

Once your record is translated, Sortie uses it to tailor a resume for each job you choose and brings daily matches from USAJOBS and public company career pages. You approve each application before anything goes out.

How Sortie helps

  1. Upload your resumes, evaluations or award citations.
  2. Review the civilian translation of each role and duty.
  3. Pick suggested job titles that fit your real scope.
  4. Tailor a resume for each job and approve it before it is sent.
